Dialysis

A dialysis session is a medical treatment that performs the vital function of removing waste, toxins, and excess fluids from the blood when the kidneys can no longer do so effectively. It is most commonly needed for patients with chronic kidney disease or kidney failure.

  • Vitals are monitored (blood pressure, heart rate, weight).
  • Blood access is established via a fistula, catheter, or port.
